Who it's for / where it goes

The PAR38 grow bulb is for indoor gardeners comparing a reflector bulb with smaller grow-bulb shapes. It screws into an E26 holder, but the lamp’s opening, electrical limit and exposure need checking together before you select it for a growing position.

Check before you buy
  • Size and fit. Exact dimensions not published; ask us. Check the fixture opening and ask for the exact PAR38 model dimensions rather than copying the dimensions of a BR30 or A19. Shape names help you compare formats, but they do not state complete height, operating clearance or permission to use a bulb in an enclosed fixture. Ask about size and fit.
  • Brightness. Grow spectrum; household-bulb equivalents do not measure plant coverage.
  • Power and installation. E26 socket (screw-in). Check the socket, fixture limits and clearance before screwing it in. Electrical rating: 25 W. Supply: 120 V AC, 50/60 Hz.
  • Location. Damp locations.
  • Controls. Dimming: No.

Questions buyers ask

Does PAR38 mean the bulb is waterproof?

No. PAR38 describes a bulb format; Z-GR-PAR38-3S separately publishes damp-location use. That wording must not be expanded into unrestricted rain or water exposure. Check the location permission for the bulb and its fixture, especially if the growing area is near watering, misting or an open greenhouse side. Full guide: Will this bulb fit?.

Is BR30 or PAR38 better for indoor plants?

The PAR38 model publishes higher electrical wattage than the BR30 model, but that does not by itself prove better growth or a larger useful plant area. Compare the physical opening and the needs of the plants first. Then ask for plant-light output and distribution at the intended distance. Both the shape and the actual wattage must suit the fixture; neither is a replacement for the missing coverage information. Full guide: Grow light bulbs, strips or fixtures.

Does dimmable mean it works with my old switch?

Z-GR-PAR38-3S is explicitly listed as non-dimmable, so do not pair it with an existing dimmer on the assumption that all LED reflector bulbs support one. Check the control serving the E26 holder before buying. If the planned growing position needs adjustable intensity, request a model and control combination that publishes that support. Moving to a larger bulb format does not add a dimming feature. Also compare this model’s actual watts with the holder label before replacing a smaller bulb, even though both may use E26. Full guide: LED dimming and flicker.
