Can a slim light fit under a joist or duct?
Z-RCUC5B-2P has a slim published profile, but still needs the specified opening, mounting conditions and room for its junction box. Check joists and nearby services before committing to positions. Are the trim diameter and cutout diameter the same?
They serve different purposes. For the black recessed model, the published outer dimensions let you compare the visible body, while the installation drawing must supply the required ceiling hole. If replacing a fitting, measure the existing opening and ask whether the new trim and mounting system are suitable. Does IC rated also mean airtight?
Z-RCUC5B-2P publishes IC wording, but no airtight statement here. Treat those as separate requirements rather than extending one label to the other. Ask for the exact installation and air-sealing information if the ceiling project requires it.
