Is a plug-in shop light better than a hardwired one?
ZF2208-SP suits a reachable ceiling outlet; a hardwired strip requires a fixed wiring connection. This gives you a fixture designed for its specified T8 LED tubes; it is not an instruction to convert your old fitting. The two tubes are separate purchases. Are all 4 ft LED shop lights equally bright?
The ZF2208-SP is a holder for two separately sold T8 LED tubes, so its four-foot length is not an output figure. Ask for the compatible tube list and compare the lumens of the lamps you would actually install. Also check their colour: the appearance of the assembled light depends on the chosen tubes. Can I use an indoor shop light under a patio roof?
This shop light is expressly for dry locations indoors. A patio roof does not turn an outdoor position into the published indoor use. Keep it in a suitable garage or workshop and check that moisture cannot make that position unsuitable. For a covered outdoor job, choose a product whose own location statement permits that exposure; the vapor-tight fixture’s name or a work light’s wet rating does not change this tube fixture’s conditions.
