Who it's for / where it goes

This tripod work light is for garage and workshop jobs where a freestanding light can be positioned near the task. Its two heads give you two aiming directions, while the published tripod height and cord length provide practical starting points for planning the setup.

Check before you buy
  • Size and fit. Published size: Tripod adjusts to 48 in. Set aside a stable floor area for the open tripod and keep its six-foot-four-inch cord out of the walking route. The stand extends to forty-eight inches, but the deployed leg footprint and packed dimensions are not published here. Ask for those measurements if storage space or a narrow work bay is important.
  • Brightness. About as much light as 3 ordinary 60-watt household bulbs (2,400 lumens; an old 60-watt bulb gives about 800).
  • Power and installation. Connection not published. Ask us how this tripod connects to power and which installation parts it requires. Electrical rating: 20 W. Cord: 6 ft 4 in grounded cord. Ask about power and installation.
  • Location. Location rating not published. Ask about location.
  • Controls. Dimmer compatibility not published; ask us. Ask about controls.

Questions buyers ask

Do two heads give twice the light?

No. The published 2,400 lumens is the output for the complete Z-2000DT-6 work light, not an amount to multiply by two. Use the separate heads to aim light toward different parts of the work. Positioning still matters: a tool, vehicle panel or your own body can create shadows even when the total lumen figure is suitable. Full guide: Tripod, stand or clamp work light.

How should I set up a tripod light?

Open the tripod on a stable surface where all legs remain clear of vehicles, tools and the walking route. Z-2000DT-6 publishes a forty-eight-inch stand height and a six-foot-four-inch cord, so check both against the proposed position. Ask for the deployed footprint and follow the model instructions for securing the stand and aiming its two heads; neither measurement is permission to stretch the cable across a busy aisle. Full guide: Tripod, stand or clamp work light.

Is a tripod light brighter than a clamp light?

Z-2000DT-6 has a higher published lumen total than the Zone clamp light, but support and position solve different problems. A tripod uses floor space and can aim from a freestanding position, while a clamp needs a suitable edge near the task. Compare the shadows, outlet route and safe working clearance in your actual setup instead of treating the higher number as proof that the tripod is always the better format.
