Who it's for / where it goes

The clamp work light is for garage and workshop tasks where a rail or shelf can support light close to the work. Its spring clamp keeps the support off the floor, and the head tilts on a yoke so you can change the direction as the job moves.

Check before you buy
  • Size and fit. Published size: 6 x 6 x 12 in. Measure the edge you want to grip and compare the complete light dimensions with the surrounding space. Ask for the clamp opening and supported mounting surfaces before buying; the housing size does not state the jaw capacity. Plan the cord route without using cable tension to hold the light in place.
  • Brightness. About as bright as a 75-watt household bulb (1,200 lumens).
  • Power and installation. Plug-in. Needs a reachable suitable outlet and a safe cord route. Electrical rating: 10 W. Cord: 5 ft, grounded plug, outdoor rated. Supply: 120 V AC, 60 Hz.
  • Location. Suitable for use around wet locations.
  • Controls. Dimmer compatibility not published; ask us. Ask about controls.

Questions buyers ask

Can I use a clamp work light in a garage?

Z-1200-C is tagged for garage and workshop use and publishes wet-location wording. The deciding fit check is whether its clamp suits your particular shelf or rail. Check the edge thickness, support strength, head clearance and outlet distance. A tilting yoke helps aim the light but does not guarantee that any edge can hold it. Full guide: Tripod, stand or clamp work light.

Is a tripod light brighter than a clamp light?

For these exact Zone options, the clamp light’s published output is lower than the tripod model’s, but they solve different placement problems. Z-1200-C can place light close to a shelf-supported task without a tripod occupying the floor. Decide whether the work needs a nearby aimed light or broader illumination from a freestanding support. The lumen comparison alone does not tell you which position avoids the shadows from your hands or equipment. Full guide: Tripod, stand or clamp work light.

Does portable mean rechargeable or cordless?

Z-1200-C is plug-in, with a published grounded outdoor-rated cord. It has no battery or runtime specification here. Measure the route from the clamped position to the outlet and leave the cable free of pull on the clamp. The wet-location wording is useful for choosing the work area, but check the support and power connection as part of the same setup before assuming every outdoor edge is a suitable mounting point.
