Who it's for / where it goes

This motion-activated garage light is for an E26 ceiling position where hands-free switching is useful. Three adjustable panels let you aim the light, while the published sensor timing matters if you alternate between walking around the garage and working quietly at a bench.

Check before you buy
  • Size and fit. Exact dimensions not published; ask us. Measure the open-panel space around the holder and the moving garage door before buying. The lamp holder is not included. Ask for the working span and clearances, since neither the output nor the sensor’s detection distance tells you how much physical room the panels need. Ask about size and fit.
  • Brightness. About as much light as 10 ordinary 60-watt household bulbs (8,000 lumens; an old 60-watt bulb gives about 800).
  • Power and installation. E26 socket (screw-in). Check the socket, fixture limits and clearance before screwing it in. Electrical rating: 80 W. Supply: 120 V AC, 60 Hz.
  • Location. Damp locations (covered, not exposed to water).
  • Controls. Motion sensor, up to 26 ft. Dimming: No, not for use with dimmers. Sensor: Motion sensor, light stays on 5 or 10 minutes.

Questions buyers ask

Should I buy a motion version for a workshop?

Z-JG-80AL-M publishes a motion sensor and a choice of five- or ten-minute on time. Consider whether your work involves enough movement to keep triggering it. Ask about any always-on or override mode you require; adjustable panels and a motion label do not establish those additional controls. Full guide: Deformable garage lights.

Can I dim these Zone panel models?

Z-JG-80AL-M is not for use with dimmers. Its sensor switches the light according to motion and the selected on time; it is not a brightness control. Decide whether the published output suits the ceiling position before buying. If you work directly under a low socket or face the panels across a bench, consider the aim and glare together rather than planning to reduce the light with an existing dimmer. Full guide: Deformable garage lights.

Will a panel light fit any ceiling socket?

The published facts identify an E26 socket, while the manual-derived connection says the lamp holder is not included. Check the holder’s electrical limits and the open-panel clearance separately. Its damp-location statement explicitly describes covered conditions without water exposure. A screw-in base therefore does not make this model a fit for any ceiling enclosure, a garage-door opener’s bulb compartment or an exposed outdoor socket. Full guide: Deformable garage lights.
